Bensons wrap up seventh division title

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

bensons-bowers

While Nolan's In Pursuit of Perfection spent Week 13 pursuing answers for how they got absolutely boat-raced, Alex's Bad News Bensons were busy collecting their seventh division title with a 170-104 demolition. The Bensons (8-5) officially locked up the Old School East, leaving the Fightin' Longshanks (7-6) and Team Odouls (6-7) to fight over table scraps.

The 170-Point Statement

Rashee Rice chose violence with 29.4 points, leading a Bensons onslaught that featured five players over 17 points. Brock Bowers (24.3) and CeeDee Lamb (24.2) turned Week 13 into their personal highlight reel, while Dak Prescott (23.8) delivered when it mattered most.

Even the "depth" pieces showed out: Derrick Henry (17.4) and Javonte Williams (17.0) provided the steady production that turns good teams into division champions. Hell, even Daniel Jones managed 18.15 points from the superflex spot, because when you're the Bensons in Week 13, even your bad decisions turn to gold.

The only blemish? Tyler Loop with 2 points at kicker. But when you're dropping 170 on someone's head, nobody's counting.

IPP's Nightmare on Jefferson Street

Let's talk about Justin Jefferson's 2.4 points.

That's not a typo. That's a tragedy. The consensus WR1 in fantasy, the cornerstone of Nolan's team, the reason IPP was supposed to compete—delivered 2.4 points in the most important game of their season.

Josh Allen tried with 17.95 points, but when Jefferson disappears harder than IPP's playoff hopes, what's the point? Josh Jacobs (10.1), Kenneth Gainwell (9.1), and Marvin Harrison Jr. (12.9) all showed up, but they might as well have been rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

The 104-point output was IPP's second-lowest of the season, coming at the absolute worst time.

Week 14: Playoffs on the Line

Here's where it gets spicy. IPP now sits at 7-6, tied with three other teams but ranked 6th overall. The problem? They have the lowest point total (1783.4) among all 7-6 teams. One more loss in Week 14 and their season might be over.

The pursuit of perfection has become the pursuit of not missing the playoffs entirely. For a team with Josh Allen and Justin Jefferson, that would be more than disappointing—it would be embarrassing.

Meanwhile, the Bensons can cruise into Week 14 knowing they've already won what they came for, riding a three-game winning streak and the momentum of a 170-point explosion.

Seven and Counting

Seven division titles. Let that sink in. While other teams celebrate breakthrough seasons, Alex just keeps stacking championships like it's routine. The Bad News Bensons don't just win—they dominate when it matters most.

Sunday wasn't just about clinching another crown. It was about sending a message to the rest of the league: this team isn't satisfied with division titles. They want it all.

For IPP, Week 14 is elimination game territory. Win or go home. No more margin for error. No more 2.4-point performances from superstars.

The bad news for everyone else? The Bensons are peaking at exactly the right time.
